Method 1: Port your SIM from Airtel to Jio using website:

If you wish to port your mobile number to Jio, you don’t need to go out to visit the Jio store. You can simply port your SIM to Jio from Airtel or any other telecom service provider by sitting on your home using its website. You just need to have any identity proof in your hand at the time of porting process online.  Unfortunately, you can book for new Jio SIM online for Postpaid Jio connections only. Let’s see the steps to port your Airtel SIM to Jio using its website

Step 1: First of all, you will need to visit the official Jio website in your default browser on your device. The official website of Jio is www.jio.com or just click on the link.
Step 2: At the main interface of the Jio website, you need to look for the ‘Port to Jio’ option. You can see that option under the ‘Our Services’ section and select it.
Step 3: On the next page, enter your full name and the mobile number which you need to port to Jio. 
Step 4: Once you enter both the details, the ‘Generate OTP’ option will activate and you need to click on it. You will get a Time Password as a text message on the mobile number you have given on the page.
Step 5: Enter that Six digit one-time password on the page and validate the entered OTP by tapping the ‘Validate OTP’ option.
Step 6: Once the OTP was successfully validated, it will take you to a new page where you need to enter your address. Enter your complete address without mistake.
Step 7: At the end, click on the ‘Confirm’ button. You will soon receive a call from a Jio executive to make an appointment to issue a Jio SIM. At the time of call, you can ask the executive about the MNP facility.

You need to create or generate a Unique Porting Code (UPC) by sending SMS ‘PORT’ followed by your ten-digit mobile number which you want to port to Jio to; 1900.

Method 2: Port your SIM from Airtel to Jio using My Jio app:

You can use the ‘My Jio’ app as well to port your Airtel number to Jio. Let’s see the step-by-step procedure to port Airtel number to Jio using the ‘My Jio’ app.

Step 1: Open the My Jio app on your mobile. If you have not downloaded the app yet, you can get the app from the Google Play store or the Apple App Store. 
Step 2: Sign in to the app by clicking on the ‘Not a Jio User’ option at the main interface.
Step 3: Once you click on that option, you will get a pop-up message that shows the option to Port-in to Jio. You just need to click on that option to port Airtel SIM to Jio.
Step 4: On the next screen, enter your full name and ten-digit mobile number on the respective fields.
Step 5: As per the previous method, here also you need to generate OTP to receive a Time Password on your mobile number. Tap on the ‘Generate OTP’ option and enter the OTP once you receive the password on your mobile number through SMS.
Step 6: Next, you need to enter your complete address including flat/door number, locality, PIN code, location detail, and landmark. 
Step 7: Click on the ‘Confirm’ button once you enter address details. Then, you will get a call from the executive of Jio and they will confirm the address to deliver the new Jio SIM. You can speak with them to clarify your doubts regarding the arrival of the SIM and ask for the MNP facility. You can also mention whether postpaid Jio connection or prepaid Jio connection at the time of the call.

Method 3: Port your SIM from Airtel to Jio offline:

If you want to port your Airtel number to Jio offline, you need to first create a Unique Porting number by sending an SMS. You have to send SMS ‘PORT <Mobile Number>’ to 1900. You need to make sure that you send the SMS from the Airtel mobile number which you wish to port to Jio. 

Once the SMS was successfully delivered, you will get an SMS message from 1901 with the UPC code. And the expiry date of the UPC code is also mentioned in that SMS. After getting a Unique porting number, you have to visit Jio Store which is nearest to your location. You need to carry address proof as we mentioned earlier while visiting the Jio store.
